We’re fellows, to become teaching consultants. Participants first day being in control. Laura journals – “We’ve reached the peak.” Downward: Our quest in writing continues. Joe took us through “Small Step.” Saw writing through emerging scholars’ eyes. Bunny Cakes taught lessons in writing. Did a little dance: Left/Right Morning message, retells, writing triangle, storyboards Feedback matters – Finding rigor in kindergarten After demonstration: Some prepare to publish. Submit two – Present one on Thursdays. Afternoon – Emily returns to share poetry. Congratulations Emily – Short-short story award! Inspiration shared - Torch of poetry explained. Recommended anthology: A Poem a Day Commit to memory hand-written poems Poetry: “meant to be read aloud.” A tribute poem: Watching the snow Remember: “Poetry will get you by.” Too depressing, BUT “Trouble is interesting!” Wish Emily well on Iceland adventure. Journal Entry: Day at the Beach
Morning sunrise, such a beautiful sight.
Waking early just to see it. Lay out a blanket; chair ready. Watching waves, feet in the sand. Reading a book for a bit. Napping to the sound of waves. Walking the shoreline finding shells. Hours later, baking in the sun. Feeling complete relaxation, invigoration, and calmness. Journal Entry: A Crazy Classroom Experience
